When the Llewellyn theurgists got together to plan an anthology we looked around for women contributors. When I suggested that we look at writers on Witchcraft one of my colleagues offered that Witchcraft isn’t theurgy. So I put together an interview series to talk to Witches who identify what they do as theurgy. Hercules Invictus was kind enough to host the series. Here’s the playlist and our first set of interviews.
Witchcraft and Theurgy Playlist
Episode 1: An Introduction
Hercules and I share our own experiences and perspectives.
Sara was raised in the Jewish faith and wrote The Orphic Hymns Grimoire.
Don presented a formal analysis of theurgy and Witchcraft at Theurgicon 2010 and release the talk as a .pdf, Gardnerian Wica as Theurgic Ascent.
Jason called Witchcraft “the flowering of the Western Magical Tradition”, and I agreed!
Setna approaches theurgy from the Kemetic perspective. He also has great stories about Witchcraft in New York in the mid twentieth century.
We caught Clio as she had just returned from attending the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions.
Megan and I are both Tantric practitioners and discussed Tantra, theurgy and our love for the divine.
The show is on hiatus at present. There are so many good stories out there I hope to pick it up again in the future. In the meantime I hope you enjoy these interviews with a fascinating group of knowledgeable and friendly Witch-Theurgists!
