Rituals

The Star Garnet

This is an original Thelemic ritual. It serves the same purpose as the Golden Dawn’s Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram and Aleister Crowley’s Star Ruby. In the Star Ruby the magician points to the genitals and says “O phalle”, phallus, which Crowley described as the principle of life renewing itself generation through generation. Of course for women the organ of generation is not the phallus but the womb. Just as the Star Ruby can be performed by a magician of any gender, the Star Garnet creates a magical womb for a magician of any gender. The womb becomes a retort for generating physical and spiritual renewal.

Mass of the Priestess

As an ordained priestess of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica I have performed and studied Liber XV, the Gnostic Mass for two decades. Throughout that time my sisters and brothers have talked about the need for a “Woman’s Mass”, a version of the ritual that would place the priestess in the active role. I presented ideas about how to accomplish this to my colleagues for many years, until one bishop asked me, “When are you going to finally write it?” So I did.

This is not an E.G.C. ritual and does not proceed from the Sovereign Sanctuary. This ritual is authorized by the people who perform it. It’s in the family of Thelemic Masses but I don’t think it qualifies as a woman’s version of Liber XV, that ritual remains to be written. This Mass is conducted by a priest, priestess, and deacon, who are all co-equal in the performance. Also, it does not take Qabbalah as its theoretical basis, but is instead based on Neo-Platonic conceptions.

Nuit, Hadit and Ra Hoor Khuit practices

This is Nuit practice. It follows the instructions in the Book of the Law to invoke Nuit under the night stars in the desert.

The Hadit practice answers Nuit’s call to put on the wings and come unto her.

The armor of Ra Hoor Khuit acts like a Tantric kavacham to provide strength and protection.

The Armor of Ra Hoor Khuit.

Visions of Babalon

Loving Babalon

Babalon says: Loving me is the most radical practice.

Babalon the Warrior

I sing of Babalon the warrior. I sing of Babalon who wields the sword.

Babalon’s Blessing

I went to the desert under the night stars, fell to my knees and placed a palm on the sand. “Mother, I need you,” I cried out.

Temple Guardian Training Program

At Babalon Rising the temple guardians are called temple dogs. These are the warrior-protectors who create the space that permits erotic contact with the divine. Each of us can be protected and protector in turn.
